Jasmine Tea Simple Syrup
A fragrant, versatile syrup made by infusing simple syrup with jasmine tea, ideal for sweetening cocktails, iced teas, desserts, or marinades.
Ingredients
Ingredients
- 4 tbsp jasmine tea leaves
- 2 1/4 cups boiling water
- 2 cups sugar
Instructions
- Combine the jasmine tea leaves and boiling water in a heatproof container. Steep for 10 minutes to infuse the flavors.
- Strain out the tea leaves and discard them. Return the infused water to the saucepan.
- Add the sugar to the infused water over medium heat. Stir continuously until the sugar fully dissolves, about 2-3 minutes.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and cook for 20 minutes, or longer if you prefer a thicker consistency. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Remove from heat and let the syrup cool completely to room temperature. Transfer to a clean jar or bottle and store in the refrigerator.
Notes
This syrup will keep in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. For a stronger tea flavor, use loose-leaf jasmine tea and steep a bit longer. Adjust simmering time for desired thickness—shorter for pourable syrup, longer for a more concentrated glaze.
