  • a knob butter
  • fleur de sel
  • obscene amounts black pepper
  • water

Instructions

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil.
  2. Gently lower the eggs into the boiling water and cook for 6½ minutes.
  3. Transfer the eggs to an ice bath for about 30 seconds, then peel them.
  4. Place a knob of butter into a cup.
  5. Add the peeled eggs to the cup.
  6. Sprinkle with fleur de sel and a generous amount of black pepper.
  7. Mash the eggs together with the butter until creamy.
  8. Serve immediately.
