Perfect Pie Crust

15m
1 servings

A simple, flaky homemade pie crust dough that's easy to make and perfect for pies.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 cups cold unsalted butter, cut into 1/2" cubes
  • 1/4 cups ice cold water, plus more as needed

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, and salt. Add butter and toss to coat in flour. Using your hands, work butter into flour mixture until walnut-sized pieces form.
  2. Add ice water and stir and squeeze with your hands to form a dough. Add more water, 1 tablespoon at a time as needed, until dough holds together; it shouldn’t feel sticky but will easily hold together when squeezed.
  3. Form dough into a disc and tightly wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate until well chilled, at least 2 hours or up to 3 days.
