Pan-Fried Gnocchi With Brown Butter Sage Sauce and Garlic
This delightful dish features frozen gnocchi fried to golden perfection in a nutty brown butter sage sauce, enhanced with garlic and a splash of lemon juice for brightness.

- 1 lb frozen fresh gnocchi
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 10 pieces fresh sage leaves
- 3 cloves garlic

- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Heat 3 tbsp (45 ml) of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Take the frozen gnocchi directly from the freezer and add them straight to the hot oil.
- Fry the gnocchi until golden brown and crispy, about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally.
- Remove the gnocchi and set aside on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
- In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add 1/2 cup (113 g) of unsalted butter.
- Allow the butter to melt and foam, stirring frequently until it turns golden brown and smells nutty.
- Add 3 cloves of minced garlic to the brown butter and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add 10 fresh sage leaves to the butter and let them crisp for about 1 minute.
- Add 1 tbsp (15 ml) of lemon juice to the brown butter sage sauce for acidity; stir well.
- Season the brown butter sage sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
- Return the fried gnocchi to the skillet and toss in the brown butter sauce until well coated.
- Serve hot, garnished with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and additional sage leaves.
