Roasted maple cinnamon walnuts
These crunchy oven-baked walnuts are tossed in sweet maple syrup and aromatic cinnamon, resulting in an irresistible snack that's naturally gluten-free and packed with healthy fats.
Ingredients
- 1 lb walnuts
- 1/2 cup maple syrup or honey
- to taste ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine 1 pound of walnuts, 1/2 cup of maple syrup (or honey), and cinnamon to taste (start with 1-2 teaspoons and adjust as desired).
- Stir the mixture until the walnuts are evenly coated.
- Spread the walnuts in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through to ensure even roasting, until the syrup is caramelized and the nuts are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool completely on the baking sheet for about 30 minutes; the walnuts will harden as they cool.
