These crunchy oven-baked walnuts are tossed in sweet maple syrup and aromatic cinnamon, resulting in an irresistible snack that's naturally gluten-free and packed with healthy fats.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb walnuts
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup or honey
  • to taste ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine 1 pound of walnuts, 1/2 cup of maple syrup (or honey), and cinnamon to taste (start with 1-2 teaspoons and adjust as desired).
  3. Stir the mixture until the walnuts are evenly coated.
  4. Spread the walnuts in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through to ensure even roasting, until the syrup is caramelized and the nuts are golden brown.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool completely on the baking sheet for about 30 minutes; the walnuts will harden as they cool.
