Honey Dijon BBQ Chicken

Juicy chicken thighs grilled with a quick honey-Dijon glaze for caramelized edges and finished in the oven.

  • 1.5 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 1/4 cups honey
  • 3 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 3 garlic
  • 1 tbsp chicken seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp tamari

Instructions

  1. Preheat a gas or charcoal grill to high heat.
  2. Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels.
  3. Season both sides of the chicken with chicken seasoning, black pepper, and onion powder.
  4. Combine the honey, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, and tamari in a small bowl to make the glaze.
  5. Place the seasoned chicken on the hot grill grates.
  6. Grill the chicken for 2 minutes on the first side without moving it.
  7. Brush the top with the honey-Dijon glaze, flip, and grill 2 minutes on the second side.
  8. Brush the second side with more glaze.
  9. Transfer the chicken to a baking sheet and finish in a 400°F oven until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  10. Remove from the oven and let rest 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Chicken thighs stay juicier than breasts when cooked at high grill heat; adjust glaze sweetness to taste.
