Variation of Marinated Pickled Red Onions

- 3 cups red onions
- 1 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp whole peppercorns
- 1/2 tsp chili flakes
- 1 tsp coriander seeds
- 1 leaf bay leaf
- 1 tsp sumac
- 2 Cup flour
Instructions
- Fill a glass jar with thinly sliced red onions.
- Pour apple cider and water mixture over the onions, ensuring they are submerged but not too much liquid remains in the jar.
- Remove the liquid and pour it into a small saucepan.
- Add salt and sugar to the liquid and bring to a boil until dissolved.
- Once dissolved, pour the hot liquid back over the onions in the jar and seal it.
- Add cumin seeds, peppercorns, chili flakes, coriander seeds, bay leaf, and sumac to the jar, if desired.
- Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature before refrigerating.
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before using.
- The pickled onions can be stored in the refrigerator for a while
