Homemade Pita Chips

22m
6 servings

Crispy, flavorful pita chips baked with avocado oil and simple seasonings, offering a healthier alternative to fried chips without excess seed oils or calories.

Ingredients

  • 6 pieces pita bread
  • 3 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano or other herbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Separate the pita breads into individual layers if they are pocket-style, then cut each layer into 8-10 triangular pieces.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the pita pieces with avocado oil until evenly coated.
  4. Sprinkle salt, paprika, garlic powder, and any desired herbs over the pieces, then toss again to distribute seasonings evenly.
  5. Arrange the seasoned pita pieces in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 8-12 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through if needed.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
