One Pan High Protein Mapo Tofu

  • 1 lb lean ground beef (90/10)
  • 2.5 tbsp garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, minced
  • 2 tbsp doubanjiang (spicy bean paste)
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • 2 tsp sichuan peppercorn
  • 1 tsp chicken bouillon powder
  • 1.5 tbsp cornstarch
  • 6 tbsp water
  • 15 oz silken tofu
  • 1 green onion

Instructions

  1. Thinly slice the green onion.
  2. In a pan over medium heat, cook the ground beef and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Add minced garlic, minced ginger, oyster sauce, doubanjiang, soy sauce, Sichuan peppercorn, and chicken bouillon powder; mix well.
  4. Combine cornstarch and water to form a slurry and slowly pour it into the pan, stirring continuously.
  5. Score the silken tofu into small cubes, add to the pan, and gently stir until fully incorporated.
  6. Top with the sliced green onion and enjoy!
