Spiced Sautéed Apple Oatmeal Bowl
Warm Honeycrisp apples quickly sautéed in coconut oil with a bold spice blend and maple syrup, layered over oats enriched with chia, flax, and maca for earthy depth, then finished with a creamy peanut butter ribbon.
Ingredients
Ingredients
- 2 honeycrisp apples
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/8 tsp ground allspice
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 cups rolled oats
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1 tbsp ground flax seeds
- 1 tsp maca powder
- 2 cups unsweetened almond milk
- 2 tbsp natural peanut butter
Instructions
- Core and thinly slice two Honeycrisp apples into ¼-inch wedges.
- Heat coconut oil in a skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
- Add apple wedges and cook undisturbed for two minutes to develop caramelized edges.
- Sprinkle cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice over the apples, then toss to coat evenly.
- Drizzle maple syrup into the pan and continue sautéing until apples soften but retain bite, about four minutes.
- Meanwhile, combine rolled oats, chia seeds, ground flax seeds, and maca powder in a saucepan.
- Pour almond milk over the oat mixture and bring to a gentle simmer, stirring frequently.
- Cook oats until creamy and thickened, about five minutes, adding a splash more milk if needed.
- Stir a pinch of cinnamon into the finished oats for an extra warm note.
- Divide oats between bowls, top with the spiced apples, and drizzle generously with peanut butter.
Notes
Use certified gluten-free oats if needed and natural peanut butter for the best flavor contrast.
