Missing California so whipped up a lil something from home
In-N-Out Style Burger Bowl
A low-carb twist on the classic In-N-Out Double-Double burger, featuring juicy beef patties topped with cheese, fresh veggies, and their signature spread, all served over a bed of lettuce and taters—no bun required.
Ingredients
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 american cheese slices
- 8 cups shredded romaine lettuce
- 1 sliced tomato
- 1/2 carmalized yellow onion
- 1/2 cup sliced dill pickles
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp sweet pickle relish
- 1 tsp white vinegar
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- to taste black pepper
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, pickle relish, vinegar, sugar, and salt to make the spread. Set aside in the fridge.
- Divide the ground beef into 8 equal portions and form into thin patties. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 2-3 minutes per side until browned and cooked through. In the last minute, top 4 patties with a slice of cheese each and cover to melt.
- While patties cook, chop the lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles.
- To assemble each bowl: Layer shredded lettuce at the bottom, add sliced tomato, onion rings, pickles, two cheese-topped patties, and drizzle with the special spread. Repeat for remaining bowls.
Notes
For a spicier version, add diced jalapeños or hot sauce to the toppings. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days; reheat patties gently to avoid wilting the lettuce.
