Miss Ada's Whipped Ricotta Dip

A creamy whipped ricotta dip topped with nutty brown butter, honey, fresh sage, and flaky sea salt, served with bread as an elegant appetizer.

  • 1 cup fresh ricotta
  • 1/2-1 lemon
  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 2-3 Tbsp honey
  • 4-5 leaves fresh sage
  • flakey sea salt

Instructions

  1. Place ricotta and lemon juice in a mixing bowl. Using a hand mixer, whisk for 1-2 minutes until smooth and creamy. Transfer to a serving bowl.
  2. In a stainless steel skillet, melt the butter over medium-low heat until it sputters, settles, and the milk solids sink to the bottom (about a few minutes). The butter will smell nutty when browned. Let cool for a minute, then strain through a sieve into a separate bowl.
  3. Top the whipped ricotta with the brown butter and honey. Swirl gently to combine flavors without fully mixing. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt and finely chopped sage to finish.
  4. Serve with bread.
