Miss Ada's Whipped Ricotta Dip
A creamy whipped ricotta dip topped with nutty brown butter, honey, fresh sage, and flaky sea salt, served with bread as an elegant appetizer.
Ingredients
Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh ricotta
- 1/2-1 lemon
- 1 stick unsalted butter
- 2-3 Tbsp honey
- 4-5 leaves fresh sage
- flakey sea salt
Instructions
- Place ricotta and lemon juice in a mixing bowl. Using a hand mixer, whisk for 1-2 minutes until smooth and creamy. Transfer to a serving bowl.
- In a stainless steel skillet, melt the butter over medium-low heat until it sputters, settles, and the milk solids sink to the bottom (about a few minutes). The butter will smell nutty when browned. Let cool for a minute, then strain through a sieve into a separate bowl.
- Top the whipped ricotta with the brown butter and honey. Swirl gently to combine flavors without fully mixing. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt and finely chopped sage to finish.
- Serve with bread.
