Smoked Baked Beans
Smoky, savory baked beans infused with barbecue flavors on the smoker for a perfect side dish.

- 2 cans baked beans
- 0.5 onion diced
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- pinch brown sugar
- 3 tbsp bbq sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- to taste salt and pepper
- pinch maple syrup
- 1 tbsp dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- pinch paprika
Instructions
- Preheat your smoker to 250 degrees F using your preferred wood pellets or chips.
- Dice the onion and mince the garlic cloves.
- In a baking dish, combine the baked beans, diced onion, minced garlic, brown sugar, BBQ sauce, garlic powder, maple syrup, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, ketchup, and paprika.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste and stir everything together thoroughly.
- If using regular beans instead of baked beans, stir in the water to loosen the mixture.
- Place the baking dish on the smoker grates.
- Smoke the beans for 2 hours, stirring once halfway through for even flavor.
- Remove from the smoker once the beans are thickened and infused with smoke.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Start with 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and adjust to taste after smoking if needed.
