35m
6 servings

Halved Brussels sprouts are tossed with a maple balsamic mixture and garlic powder, then roasted cut side down until caramelized for a simple, flavorful side dish that balances sweetness and tang without a separate glaze.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb brussels sprouts
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Trim and halve 1 1/2 pounds of Brussels sprouts, discarding any tough outer leaves.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, maple syrup, and balsamic vinegar.
  4. Spread the Brussels sprouts in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, cut sides down.
  5. Roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are caramelized and tender. Do not flip during roasting.
  6. Serve immediately as a glossy, flavorful side dish.
