Asian Beef and Vegetable Stir-Fry
Sliced round steak is stir-fried with crisp vegetables in a flavorful soy-ginger sauce, ready in under 30 minutes for a healthy Asian twist on weeknight dinner. Pair with steamed rice to soak up the delicious sauce.

- 1 lb round steak
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 red bell pepper
- 1 yellow bell pepper
- 1 carrot
- 1/2 onion
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 cups white rice
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
Instructions
- Slice the round steak thinly against the grain and pat dry with paper towels.
- In a bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup soy sauce, 2 tablespoons sesame oil, 1 tablespoon grated ginger, 2 minced garlic cloves, 1 tablespoon cornstarch, and 1/4 cup water to make the sauce; set aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon sesame oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat.
- Add the sliced beef in a single layer and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned; remove and set aside.
- Add another tablespoon of sesame oil to the wok if needed, then add 2 cups broccoli florets, 1 sliced red bell pepper, 1 sliced yellow bell pepper, 1 sliced carrot, and 1/2 sliced onion; stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until crisp-tender.
- Return the beef to the wok and pour in the sauce; stir-fry for 2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats everything.
- Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds if desired.
- Serve immediately over steamed rice.
Notes
For best results, freeze the steak for 20 minutes before slicing to make thin cuts easier. Substitute tamari for soy sauce to make it gluten-free.
