A viral Korean dessert with a crispy exterior and chewy, custardy interior, made easily with glutinous rice flour and simple ingredients.

  • 160 g glutinous rice flour
  • 60 g white sugar
  • 200 ml whole milk
  • 30 g unsalted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x8-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the glutinous rice flour, white sugar, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk the room-temperature milk, egg, vanilla extract, and softened butter until smooth.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, stirring until a smooth batter forms.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden and set.
  6. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
