1/2 cup butter chocolate chip cookies

6.0 (1)

Chewy chocolate chip cookies with flaky sea salt garnish.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cups unsalted butter (melted)
  • 3/4 cups brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • salt
  • 1 cups chopped dark chocolate
  • flaky sea salt for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a mixer or a large bowl, mix melted butter and sugars.
  2. Add egg and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  3. To the same bowl, add flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix until just combined. Do NOT over mix. Fold in chopped chocolate.
  4. Using a cookie scoop, form dough into balls (approx. 1.5 tablespoons of dough).
  5. Place the dough balls in the fridge for, at least, 20 minutes (the longer, the better). You can also freeze the dough balls for future use.
  6. When ready to bake, remove the dough balls from the fridge. Preheat oven to 350ºF.
  7. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place dough balls on the baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 10-11 minutes until the edges are golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with sea salt (optional). It's ok if they are a little undercooked, they will continue to bake as they cool.
  10. Cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet. Serve and enjoy!
