Mint leaf syrup and Mint lemonade
A refreshing mint leaf syrup that can be used to make a sparkling mint lemonade. From thrivewithcandicee on Instagram.
Ingredients
Raw mint leaf syrup
- equal parts mint leaves
- equal parts white granulated sugar
- 2-3 lemons lemon juice
Mint Lemonade
- ice
- juice of one lemon lemon juice
- mint leaf syrup
- sparkling water
Instructions
- Wash and remove the leaves from the stems.
- Roughly chop the mint leaves to release their aroma.
- In a jar, layer equal parts of chopped mint leaves and sugar, then add a generous drizzle of lemon juice (2-3 lemons).
- Press gently, close the lid, and let it sit in the fridge for 48 to 72 hours, mixing daily.
- When the sugar dissolves and the syrup turns light green, strain and store in the fridge.
- To make mint lemonade, fill a large cup with ice, add the juice of one lemon, some mint leaf syrup, and top with sparkling water.
- Mix and enjoy.
