Ingredients
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup (packed) brown sugar
- 1/3 cup white sugar
- 1 large egg & 1 yolk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 dash cinnamon
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Melt the unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it foams and turns golden brown with a nutty aroma, about 5-7 minutes; remove from heat and let cool for 10 minutes.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the cooled brown butter, brown sugar, and white sugar.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, whisking until fully combined.
- Mix in flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Roll into balls and refrigerate for 20-30 minutes to help with shape.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft.
- Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
