Crispy Roasted Chickpeas
These addictive crispy roasted chickpeas make a healthy, protein-packed snack with a perfect crunch, seasoned with garlic, salt, pepper, and a smoky blend of spices for bold flavor.
Ingredients
Ingredients
- 2 cans (15 oz each) canned chickpeas
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves, minced garlic
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Drain and rinse the chickpeas thoroughly, then pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- In a large bowl, toss the chickpeas with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, ground cumin, smoked paprika, and chili powder until evenly coated.
- Spread the chickpeas in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- Roast in the preheated oven for 25-35 minutes, shaking the pan halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving; they will crisp up more as they cool.
Notes
For extra crispiness, ensure chickpeas are very dry before roasting. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week; re-crisp in the oven if needed. Try adding rosemary or nutritional yeast for flavor variations.
